Abstract
949,009. Centrifugal governors. AGFA A. G. June 5,1962 [June 7, 1961], No. 21727/62. Heading G3B. An adjustable centrifugal governor e.g. a braking governor for a cinÚ camera, comprises governing elements including blade springs 8 supporting counterweights 13 and extending substantially parallel to the governor shaft 1, the adjustment means comprising a bushing 16<SP>1</SP> displaceable along the shaft 1 and along the blade springs to vary the effective length of the springs, the bushing having a guide passage for the blade springs, and itself being provided with means for adjusting the dimension of the guide passage corresponding to the thickness of the springs 8. The blade springs of which there are two are secured to a block 7 on the shaft 1 and on rotation of the shaft the weights 13 engage with a fixed brake drum (not shown). In Fig. 2 the blade springs are held in the guide passage in the bushing 16<SP>1</SP> by a set screw 22 which engages with a pressure shoe 21 to clamp the springs in the bushing. In Fig. 3, compression springs 26 act on the pressure shoes 21, the springs 26 being held in place by a recessed support ring 24. In Fig. 4 a part annular spring clip 28 is used having pins which engage the shoes 21 through holes 27 in the bushing 16<SP>11</SP>. In Fig. 5 the spring clip is modified by having bent over lugs 30 which engage the blade springs directly, without the use of the shoes 21 and pins 29<SP>1</SP> merely locate the clip on the bushing.
