[Also in Division G5] A time-multiplex arrangement for transmitting signals as intermittent bursts of multiples of the original frequencies, comprises a magnetic disc 33, on which the original signals are recorded by a head 21 and a playback head 8, eccentrically rotated at a suitable multiple of the disc speed, produces signals of correspondingly multipled frequencies which are gated on to a common highway at intervals by a counter/timer arrangement (Fig. 1, not shown), locked to a reference frequency, which also drives a synchronous motor driving the disc and playback head.
