948,595. Potentiometers. SOC. D'ELECTRONIQUE ET D'AUTOMATISME. Aug. 30, 1962 [Sept. 4, 1961], No. 33309/62. Heading H1S. In a potentiometer having an oxide or nitride film track a metallic film path is provided over, and adhering to, that portion of the track defining the wiper path. The Figure shows a preferred embodiment in which a disc-shaped member 1, of glass or ceramic, is provided with a film 2 of a complex of oxides with a preponderance of tin oxide therein. The disc is provided with a wiper assembly 13 having a brush 11 running over a path 3 formed by a metallic deposit which may be e.g. of chromium, or nickel chromium, evaporated under pressure, or of electrolytically deposited rhodium. The path 3 may be defined by masking the appropriate areas of the track 2 during the deposition. -
