Abstract

948,527. Warping machines etc.; stop motion. BRITISH NYLON SPINNERS Ltd. Aug. 17, 1962 [Aug. 25, 1961], No. 30638/61. Headings D1C, D1D and D1M. In a stop motion for a warping machine &c. a pivoted beam 21 is usually held out of contact with an electrical contact 35 by the tension of a thread 36 passing through an eyelet 32. A pivoted beam 20 is usually held out of contact with the contact 35 by a length of chain 26 which is connected to a sprocket 28. If the thread tension falls the beam 21 is no longer supported and touches the contact 35 to complete a circuit and stop the machine. If the thread tension rises the beam 21 is pulled up and this by means of a rod 33 and a stop 34 pulls up the beam 20 to touch the contact 35 and stop the machine. The tension at which this latter takes place may be regulated by turning a knob 29 to turn the sprocket 28 and so lengthen or shorten the chain 26.
