Abstract

The invention comprises thiophosphoric esters of formula: <FORM:0945026/C2/1> where R1 and R2 are C1-6 alkyl, X is oxygen or sulphur, and Z is a saturated bivalent hydrocarbon residue which may be interrupted by a sulphur atom and which forms a ring with the nitrogen atom. They may be prepared by reacting ClCH2CONZ with <FORM:0945026/C2/2> where Me is alkali metal or ammonium. The products are parasiticides. N-chloroacetylthiamorpholine and N-chloroacetyl-2, 2-dimethylthiazolidine are prepared by the action of chloroacetyl chloride on thiamorpholine and 2, 2-dimethylthiazolidine respectively.ALSO:Parasiticidal compositions comprise, together with an inert diluent, a thiophosphoric ester of formula <FORM:0945026/A5-A6/1> where R1 and R2 and C1-6 alkyl, X is oxygen or sulphur, and Z is a saturated bivalent hydrocarbon residue which may be interrupted by a sulphur atom and which forms a ring with the nitrogen atom. (For preparation see Division C2.) Specified forms are water-soluble oils, aqueous dispersions, wettable powders and dusts. The compositions may contain other parasiticides and/or fertilizers.
