In a plunger assisted vacuum-moulding process compressed air is applied to the mould, after the plunger enters the mould and before the plunger reaches the end of the stroke. The mould may be made of metal or metal-filled synthetic resin, and the plunger of wood or metal. The thermoplastic material may be polystyrene, polycarbonate, polythene, polyvinyl chloride or cellulose propionate or acetate.
