Abstract
942,213. Cathode-ray tubes. A. B. DICK CO. March 3, 1961 [March 14, 1960], No. 7890/61. Heading H1D. In an electrostatic recording tube in which a plurality of wires 34 extending through the dielectric face plate 32 are successively caused to discharge through a dielectric tape 36 by the action of a scanning electron beam, a thin dielectric coating 40 penetrable by the beam, but not by secondary electrons, overlies the inner ends of the wires 34. A thin conductive coating 44 biased to collect secondary electrons is provided over the dielectric coating 40. The dielectric coating 40 may be formed by a deposit of aluminium which is fired to form an oxide.
