Abstract
A powder mixture which may be applied to stainless steel containing aluminium and/or titanium comprises 2.5-20% of an alloy:- .Co. .B.15-20 and the remainder a powdered alloy of the following composition:- .Co.40-80% .Cr.20-35% .W.up to 25% .C.up to 2.5% .Fe.up to 9% .Ni.up to 11% .Mo.up to 6% The above mixture may also contain 1-10% of tungsten powder The coating is applied by flame spraying and the coated base may be heated to above the fusion point of the coating but to below the softening point of the basis metal. U.S.A. Specification 2,801,165 is referred to.
