940,936. Induction heating units. DEUTSCHE EDELSTAHLWERKE A.G., and ALLGEMEINE ELEKTRICITATS-GES. Nov. 2, 1961 [Nov. 3, 1960], No. 39337/61. Heading H5H. An inductor unit 1, comprising an inductor-2 embedded in a cast body 3 or otherwise enclosed in a protective material, is constructed with sloping end faces 6 so that when a number of units are assembled in spaced relationship as shown a number of sloping annular gaps 7 are formed into droplets 9 of condensation, formed, for example, when tinning metal strip 4 or drying varnishes, are drawn by capillary action and discharged to a trough 8. The gaps 7 may be curved to facilitate entry of the droplets, and may widen towards the outside to facilitate discharge. Sloping channels may also be provided in the individual units.
