Abstract
940,385. Textile drafting mechanisms. A. CARNITI & C OFFICINE FONDERIE MECCANICHE TESSILI OGGIONESI S.p.A. Feb. 17, 1960 [Feb. 21, 1959], No. 5603/60. Heading D1D. In spinning frames in which bottom rollers of a number of side by side drafting heads are formed on a single shaft 10, apparatus is provided for varying the spacing of successive pairs of drafting rollers, said apparatus comprising a number of primary racks 15 mounted on a rod 16 which extends the length of the frame and is manually longitudinally adjustable by means of a screw device 17. The racks 15 are associated by means of gears 12, 14 with racks 13 mounted on supports 11 which carry the shaft 10 so that movement of rod 16 causes displacement of shaft 10. The racks 13 are adjustably mounted on the supports 11 so that the bearings 11 may be initially aligned.
