939,172. Ultrasonic testing of materials. G. V. PLANER Ltd., and ROLLS-ROYCE Ltd. Feb. 26, 1962 [April 7, 1961], No. 12710/61. Class 40 (7). [Also in Group XXV] A scanning belt 10 for ultrasonic testing of metallic sheets and made from rubber, plastic or similar mouldable material, is provided with a brass block 11 (moulded into a rectangular hole in the belt), having a central aperture carrying a rotatable bush 12 with a hole 13 offset from the centre of the block so that by rotating the bush the position of the hole may be adjusted relatively to the longitudinal edges of the belt. The belt is driven by means of a sprocket wheel which co-operates with projections 17, 18 on its upper surface. The bush 12 may be provided with a plurality of holes instead of a single hole.
