Abstract

938,913. Air cushion vehicles. WESTLAND AIRCRAFT Ltd. Jan. 26, 1962, No. 3153/62. Addition to 925,425. Class 4. In an improvement in the invention claimed in the parent Specification the inner flexible skirt 3 is extended below the lower edge of the outer skirt 2 by a distance equal to but not more than 1-5 times greater than the width between the skirts. Diaphragms 10 subdivide the jet passage and at the sides these are angled to give a component of forward thrust to the vehicle from the jet. At the ends ties 11 may be of such length as to retain the skirts at the necessary inclination.
