Apparatus suitable for injection moulding footwear comprises a mould carrier 9 having sections 10, 11, 12, 13 which are interconnected in an articulated manner and supporting a core 14 and mould parts 15, 16, 17 respectively, sections 11 and 12 being pivoted about axle 19 and adapted to be positioned in closed relation with respect to the stationary section 10 and the core 14 by stops 11a, 12a, and section 13 being pivoted at 41 to section 12 and adapted to close the mould cavity and to secure the sections together by a bell-crank lever closure 21, 22 operated through a linkage system 42, 43, 44, 45, 46 by a hydraulic piston/ cylinder unit 39. The core 14 in the shape of a last is in two parts 14a, 14b, the latter part being movable relative to the first by piston/cylinder unit 20, 19 through linkage 31, 32. The moulds are positioned by plates 26, 27, 28 and are screwed together in the closed position. A plurality of carriers may be located on a rotary table.
