Abstract
935,092. Cooling nuclear reactors. A. HUET. Dec. 15, 1959 [Dec. 15, 1958], No. 42674/59. Class 39 (4). A sleeve for a nuclear.fuel rod a comprises an elongated double-walled annular structure b through which coolant flows in parallel paths A, B; the sleeve is open at e to provide a coolant inlet and has apertures f in the inner wall at the opposite end. Further apertures g may be provided. The walls of the sleeve may be convergent or divergent as described in Specification 930,638, or may have transverse corrugations as described in Specification 935,091. The moderator c may be heavy water and the coolant carbon dioxide.
