Abstract
934,846. Cycle driving gear. ATELIERS DE LA MOTOBECANE. May 15, 1962, No. 18705/62. Classes 79(2) and 79(3). The engine 1 of a vehicle is disposed between the transverse axis about which arm 12 pivots and the axle of rear wheel 9 mounted on the arm. The arm is mounted on resilient bushes on a tube 14 and sprung by suspension unit 25. The engine 1 is adjustably mounted through slotted lugs 26 and drives the wheel through an expanding pulley 2 and belt 3 primary drive and reduction gears 6, 7. The tension of belt 3 is adjustable by moving the engine or by rotating the reduction gear casing 11 about axle 8. Foot pedals 34 may be mounted on an axle 33 in tube 14 and drive the rear axle through belt 36 and freewheel 37. When pedals are not provided arm 12 is mounted on a bolt (Fig 2, not shown) mounted in slots in the bodywork to allow further adjustment of belt tension.
