Abstract

934,593. Windows. W. F. COWDERY. March 9, 1961 [March 10, 1960], No. 8485/60. Class 20 (3). Sashes 10, 11 sliding in one plane are suspended by members 21, 22 from a sliding track secured to a T-girder 8 in the frame 1 mounted on the face of a wall. The sliding track arrangement which is described in Specification 934,594 comprises two C-section rails 17 secured back-to-back on the T-girder and each enclosing a C-section runner 19 of the same length. A wheel 24 mounted at one end of each rail supports the runner 19 in combination with a wheel 25 in each runner which projects through slots 26 in the runner. A stop (not shown) is provided to prevent too close approach of the wheels when the sash is supported by cantilever action in the open position (broken lines, Fig. 1). A metal guide 12 in the lower part of each slides on a rail 13 fixed to the sill 5. Ventilation holes 14, 16 covered with metal gauze and sliding shutters are provided in the sill and T-girder.
