Abstract

934,339. Gas burners. J. H. FLYNN. July 3, 1962, No. 25489/62. Class 75 (1). In a flame sheet gas burner having a burner slot 16 provided with ribbons 20 forming highvelocity gas ports 22 and two side longitudinal grooves 18 provided with ribbons 24 forming low velocity gas ports, the gas is supplied from a chamber 14 to each side groove 18 through a plurality of longitudinally spaced passages each comprising bores 48, 50 disposed at right-angles. The bores 48, 50 are constituted by an axial bore and a transverse bore in a stud 36 screwed into a bore 38 which extends from the chamber 14 to the groove 18. The outer end of the bore 38 is counterbored to provide a recess 32 connecting the transverse bore 50 to the groove 18. The recess 32 is sealed by a ring 44 and a plug 42 screwed on to the stud. The stud and plug may be formed in one piece.
