Abstract

933,874. Continuous casting-machines. CONCAST A.G. Sept. 13, 1960 [Dec. 21, 1959], No. 31544/60. Class 83 (1). A continuous-casting mould 1 is reciprocated by at least two double-acting piston and cylinder assemblies 4, 5. Levers 41, 42 actuate limit switches 43, 44, to cause reversal at the end of each stroke. Pressure oil is fed to the cylinders by pumps 10, 11 which are coupled to the casting withdrawal rollers. The limit switches 43, 44 are so connected in the control circuit that the two piston assemblies are maintained in synchronism despite inequalities due to oil leakages &c. The reversal may also be effected by photo-electric cells and time delay switches. Specifications 761,401, 776,285 and 839,276 are referred to.
