Abstract
933,304. Removing wax patterns from refractory shells. ROLLS-ROYCE Ltd. March 17, 1962, No. 10323/62. Class 87(2). A wax pattern 10, of m.p. 80-85‹C, coated with refractory material 11 by the method of Specification 805,282 is melted away by immersion in a bath 12 of molten wax 13 heated by means 14 to 150‹C to 195‹C for 10 to 15 minutes. The residual thin wax film is burnt away during hardening of the shell. The waxes employed may contain natural vegetable wax, hydrogenated vegetable oils e.g. castor oil, petroleum residue waxes, paraffin wax and inert filler.
