Abstract
932,728. Windscreen wipers. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. April 10, 1962 (April 13, 1961], No. 13766/62. Class 138 (1). In a windscreen wiper unit having two oppositely movable wiper arms 17, 19, Fig. 1, the mechanism for reversing the wiper blade 20, which leaves the inner end position more slowly than the other blade 18 comprises a four-bar linkage having two cranks 12, 15, Fig. 3, are, 15, being mounted on the spindle 14 of said blade 20, the two being pivotally articulated through a link 13, the operating push-rod 8 being pivotally connected with the crank 12 or with the link 13 adjacent to the pivot 16 connecting the parts 12, 13. The axis of the pivot between the push-rod 8 and the crank 12 may be coaxial with the pivot 16, while the crank 12 may be actually curved (Fig. 7 not shown) so it partially embraces the spindle in its end position. The four-bar linkage is such that the effective length b of the crank 15 is less than the effective length c of the crank 12, while the distance a between the spindle and pivot is less than the effective length d of the link 13. The reversing mechanism for the second wiper blade 18 consists of a one-armed crank drive connected through the push-rod 9 to the common motor 1.
