Abstract
932,010. Clutch control. E. HERION. March 8, 1960, No. 8116/60. Class 80 (2). A control system for a pair of fluid-pressure motors 26, 26<SP>1</SP> operating the clutch/brake unit of a power press through a pair of inlet valves 21, 22 actuated simultaneously by solenoids 27, 28 incorporates an automatic control member 5 which is normally held in a central position by the pressure in a common outlet 3 for the valve ducts 1, 2, but which in case of malfunctioning, causing loss of pressure in either duct, moves to stop the machine and, optionally, to operate an alarm signal. As shown the member 5 is pivoted and carries an electric contact arm 7 for initiating stoppage of the machine or operation of the alarm. In an alternative arrangement, Fig. 4 (not shown), the control member 5 is in the form of a longitudinally displaceable piston subjected to the opposed pressures in the valve ducts.
