Abstract
929,238. Toothed gearing. T. TAKAHASHI. Feb. 12, 1960 [May 14, 1959], No. 5015/60. Class 80 (1). In a sun-planets-annulus epicyclic gear wherein the planets have limited freedom to move radially, each planet pinion comprises a gear ring 4 loosely mounted, with radial clearance K, on an intermediate ring 3 which is rotatably mounted by a ball bearing 8 on the planet carrier 6. The ring 4 is axially located between a flange 14 and a ring 5 on the ring 3. In a two-stage epicyclic reduction gear comprising fixed annuli D 1 , D 2 , the first sun S 2 engages loosely mounted planets P 1 on a carrier coupled to a sun S 2 engaging planets P 2 on a carrier coupled to a sun S 2 engaging planets P 2 mounted without radial clearance on the driven carrier B. A graph is given showing the relation between the clearance K and the gear train efficiency.
