928,132. Automatic temperature control systems. H. C. L. WOLFENDEN. Sept. 21. 1959 [June 20, 1958 (2)], Nos. 19852/58 and 19853/58. Class 38 (4). A heating system comprising both a central heating arrangement and a water heating arrangement comprises a gasfired heater unit 1 and a pump 5 by means of which water is pumped through an indirect heater 2 associated with the water heating storage tank 3 and the radiators 4 of the central heating system, thermostats 12, 14 being arranged to sense the temperature of the water in the tank 3 and the space containing the rectifiers 4 respectively so that when a given temperature of the water or the space is reached the thermostats 12, 14 operate to close electromagnetically operated valves 6, 7 respectively to terminate the flow of hot water through the indirect heater 2 and the radiators 4, the pump 5 being stopped and the heater unit gas valve closed when both thermostats have operated but the operation of the pump is resumed and the gas valve re-opened when either thermostat senses a fall in temperature thereby to open one of the valves 6, 7 and restore a water circulating path. The gas valve may also be closed if the circulating water reaches too high a temperature.
