Abstract

927,671. Powder distributors. E. A. FONTANA. March 8, 1961, No. 8422/61. Class 69(3). A container 1 has a base 3 with a filler opening 12 and a closure 13, and an upper wall 2 with discharge orifices 10 controlled by a disc 5 rotatably supported by a rivet 4. The disc has radially upstanding tongues 8 extending through the orifices 10, and a further tongue 9 extending through a slot 11. Recesses 7 or salient portions 6 adjacent the tongues are brought into coincidence with the discharge orifices to open or close them by moving the tongue 9. Clogging of the orifices is reduced by the sweeping action of the tonguse 8. Alternatively the disc may be as shown in Fig. 4 with orifices 14 or slots 15 adjacent the tongues 8, and the container may have the shape shown in Fig. 5.
