Abstract

926,666. Agitators for hoppers. L. A. PETERSON. March 16, 1961 [March 24, 1960], No. 10469/60. Class 78 (1). Powder from shoot 14 falls into hopper 15 and is discharged through the bottom thereof, the discharge being assisted by an agitator. The agitator is in two parts, being formed on the one hand by a unit comprising linings 7 and 8 and on the other hand by a unit comprising linings 9 and 10. Each unit is provided with lugs 12 projecting through slot formed in the hopper walls and the lugs are connected by rods 16, 17, carried by a driven shaft 15 so that the rotation of the shaft causes the two units to reciprocate out of phase so as to agitate the powder in the hopper and to assist its discharge.
