Abstract

925,029. Rocket carriers and launchers. L. BOLKOW, [trading as BOLKOW-ENTWICKLUNGEN KOMM.-GES.]. Sept. 23, 1960 [Sept. 24, 1959], No. 32741/60. Classes 9 (1) and 92. A carrier is provided for small jet-propelled missiles 4 such as anti-tank rockets and comprises a missile support frame 1 provided with means 2, 3 to secure the carrier to the back of an operator, the frame also serving as a launching platform. By means of an aiming device 5 attached to the frame 1, the operator takes sight on the target and an asbestos or other heat-resistant shield 6 provides protection from the hot gases when the missile is launched. A support 8, which may be telescopic, acts as a shock-absorber. Control means 13 for remotecontrol missiles may be housed in a device 11 together with launching and ignition controls 14, 15 respectively. Parallel linkage may be used to make the frame 1.
