In a method and apparatus for mixing pulverulent or granular materials the primary component is fluidized by air entering at 5 and passes up a vertical conduit 6 into which a secondary component is injected at 13. The secondary component may be fluidized prior to injection by air entering at 11 and the injection means may be metering helicoidal gear pumps 1, 7. More than two components may be so mixed. Specifications 400,508, 436,843, 441,246, 446,291 and 480,738 are referred to.
