Abstract
923,997. Rolling. BETEILIGUNGS-UND PATENTVERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. Dec. 13, 1961 [Dec. 14, 1960], No. 44678/61. Class 83 (4). Apparatus for descaling hot-rolled strip comprises two bending rolls arranged in tandem over which the strip runs and a pair of rolls situated between them, the nip of the nip rolls being offset towards the bending rolls from the plane of contact of the strip with the bending rolls. A strip 1 runs over bending rolls 2 and between a pair of rolls 3, 4 positioned between each pair of rolls 2, the nip of the rolls being offset relative to the plane of contact of the strip with the rolls 2. The rolls 3, 4 are provided with single or double-backing rolls 5, 6. Bending of the strip in alternate directions through a series of roll sets effects descaling and stretching between the rolls 2 and 3.
