Abstract

923,248. Gate catches. FOSTER BROS. Ltd. Jan. 23, 1962 [April 18, 1961 (2)], Nos. 13882/61 and 29830/61. Class 44. A gate latch comprises a striker 34 projecting from the gate 36, a keeper 11 in a fixed position on the gate post 18 and having a ramp 21 with an upwardly opening latching recess 22, and an operating member pivoted at 31 on a stud 15 on said keeper 11 for lifting the striker out of the recess 22 and urging it on to and down the ramp 21 by means of a hand lever 25. After such release of the striker 34, the operating member remains in the position shown in the Figures by means of a stop member 27.
