Abstract
923,221. Float-operated valves. H. S. FERREIRA. Sept. 19, 1960 [Oct. 8, 1959], No. 32176/60. Class 135. A device for controlling the water level in a drinking trough comprises a float 1, a valve 5 controlled by the float, a pipe connection 12 leading to an outlet in the device and means 13, 14 for hooking or clamping the device on to the trough. The means 13, 14 is shown in the form of spring blades but may be replaced by a nut provided with inlet apertures and screwed on to the body of the device in place of a part 10. The device may thus be clamped on to a hole in the bottom of a bucket for supplying the trough. A wire hook 7 mounted in a recess 8 or 9 may be used to hold the float in its raised position and a number of holes 3 permit the position of the float to be adjusted in relation to its arm 2.
