923,015. Joint-making packing. ALFRED ALLEN & SON Ltd. Feb. 1, 1962 [Feb. 9, 1961], No. 4807/61. Class 122 (3). [Also in Group XXVIII] A rubber gasket 10 for a flanged pipe joint tightened by bolts 13 is held in position during assembly of the joint by a flange 15 on the gasket which encircles and grips a peripheral portion 16 of one of the pipe flanges 11. The flange 15 has an inturned rim 17 that overlaps the portion 16. The holes 14 in the gasket for the bolts 13 are circumferentially elongated.
