Abstract

922,992. Bolts. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES Ltd. Feb. 8, 1960 [Feb. 9, 1959], No. 4465/59. Class 89 (1). A pin having a cylindrical or tapered shank made from a tough resilient polymeric material is provided with a head 1, Fig. 1, shaped at 5 to receive a torque-imparting tool and adapted to be elastically deformed by screwing into a tapped hole. The pin may be cylindrical with a tapered entering portion up to “inch diameter, but may be fluted 3, Fig. 2, for larger sizes. The shank and also the head of the pin may be of nylon, polythene, polyvinyl chloride compositions or may be of natural or synthetic rubbers. The heads of the pins may be " cheese-shaped " with a screwdriver slot or non-circular recess, or they may be of square or hexagonal form. The pins may be used to join two metal plates with insulated spacing washers to provide an insulated connection.
