[Also in Group XXV] A method of manufacturing metallic loops for belts, leather articles and the like comprises blanking out from a metal strip, e.g. of brass, a piece having a longitudinal extension larger than its transverse extension and having a central portion 1 of increased width and longitudinal end portions 4, 5 at least partly of decreased width with respect to the central portion, subjecting said piece to a plurality of bending along lines 6, 7 and 8 perpendicular to said longitudinal extension, lying at least a portion 7<SP>1</SP> of the piece which is substantially parallel to said central portion thereof against a leather article 10, engaging said longitudinal end portions with said leather article, e.g. through slots 9 and bending said longitudinal end portions projecting beyond said leather article on the face thereof opposite to that where the metallic loop is provided. Limbs 2 and 3 provided on the central portion are bent underneath the central portion to improve its stiffness and prevent sharp edges on the loop. In another embodiment for forming a loop for a tuck tie (Fig. 8) the piece has an apertured central portion 1a and pointed longitudinal end portion 11a (Fig. 7). In the embodiment shown in Fig. 10, a metal sheet 1b is provided for assisting in supporting the central-portion on the leather article.
