Abstract

920,366. Intercepting tanks. M. J. BREEN. Nov. 16, 1960 [Dec. 22, 1959], No. 39335/60. Class 33. A lavatory construction comprises a septic tank defined by side, bottom and top walls, 10, 12, 14 and 16, the upper defining wall 14 of the tank being the floor of the habitable portion of the said construction, a toilet bowl 24 attached to the wall 14 and having an outlet therethrough to the tank, a pump 42 to supply water to the bowl 24 by way of a flushing tank 26, and at least one outlet port 48 from the tank. Baffle walls 50, 56 adjacent the port 48 allow continual discharge from the tank while maintaining liquid therein at a predetermined level. The walls 10, 12 extend above the wall 16 to define with a wall 22 the habitable portion of the construction. The pump 42 has an inlet line 44 passing through the tank and also supplies a tank 32 for heating water for a sink 28 and shower 30, which has a drainage opening 38 into the tank, divided into three portions by baffles 64 and 66, and having an air vent conduit 68 (forming the outlet for the sink 28), and two cleaning ports.
