917,335. Skis. RENATO, S. May 4, 1961 [May 6, 1960], No. 16232/61. Class 132 (1). A ski which is substantially shorter than the conventional ski has a bottom surface with different cross-sections which change continuously from one end of the ski to the other to provide good stability and track holding on any kind of snow and to allow very high speeds and to minimize accident hazards. The bottom surface of the ski changes from a flat surface forwardly to a concave surface passing through an intermediate portion which has a flat surface on each side of a concave surface. The ski has side extensions or flaps 6, the thickness of which increases towards the rear of the ski if made integral with the ski or if secured thereto are inclined towards the rear. The bottom edges of the ski may be laminated with metal plates shaped to conform to the surface of the ski. The ski has a length of 2¢ to 3 feet.
