915,355. Chain tensioning devices. GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA. Jan. 16, 1961 [Jan. 21, 1960], No. 1793/61. Class 80 (1). Apparatus for tensioning the chains of a doublechain scraper conveyer comprises a pulley block and tackle 16, 17, the ends 19, 20 of the traction means being fixed respectively to a bridge member 18, carrying the pulley 17 and engaging a scraper flight 14 and to any convenient point on the side section member 12 of the conveyer. The pulley 16 is also mounted on a bridge member 18 which engages a scraper flight 14. By switching on the conveyer drive, the scraper chain assembly portion A moves in the direction of the arrow 21 thereby causing the bridge members 18 to approach one another and thus facilitate the replacement of damaged chains 13<SP>1</SP>. The pulley 16 incorporates locking means.
