Abstract
914,148. Marine platforms. DANIELL, A. F. May 30, 1961 [May 30, 1960], No. 19051/60. Class 68 (2). A marine platform 10 having a substructure 11 of polygonal, e.g. triangular, formation including buoyancy chambers mainly concentrated in floats or, as in Fig. 3, provided by large diameter tubes 12, has a plurality of anchorages 14 each connected by mooring chains 13 to the substructure at two points to constitute a triangulated structure. Each anchorage comprises a mooring clump 14 attached by chains 15 to heavy anchorages (not shown). As shown in Fig. 6, to reduce the catenary effect of the cables 13 they may be provided with flotation devices 18.
