Abstract

A device for holding an article that is to be heated and partly coated with a coating material comprises a holder having a masking section having an area corresponding to at least the area of the said article that is to be masked, the surface of the masking section and the surface of the holder adjacent to the masking section being formed of high-temperature-resistant polymeric material of the class consisting of organic polymers and silicones, and means for exerting forces at the boundary line between said holder and said article to keep the article in firm contact with the holder during the coating. The surfaces may be made of polytetrafluoroethylene, a chlorinated polyether, or a silicone rubber. Specifications 759,214 and 913,641 also are referred to.
