Abstract

912,992. Shelving; stabilizing devices. DARLING CO., L. A. July 18, 1960 [July 24, 1959], No. 24991/60. Classes 52 (1), 52 (3) and 52 (5). In a shelf display unit having shelves 28 supported on uprights 24 by brackets 26, the uprights have walls 42, 44, 46 and flanges 48 extending from walls 42 to define a slot for the bracket 26 which has legs 38, 40 co-operating with walls 44, 46 and is held in position by a member 54 clamped to member 24 by means of a plate 62 and screw 64 and having a finger 60 to prevent lateral movement of the bracket 26. In a modification, Fig. 10, brackets 98 are held on an upright 97 by struck-out tangs 122 which engage in apertures in the brackets, a tang also engaging around the leg 102 of the bracket. Each base member 184 of the assembly has a levelling foot 188 riding in a canted slot 190, Fig. 15. Modified forms of upright cross-section are shown and described.
