In apparatus according to Specification 849,968, for drying granular materials, the lower space 10 of each treatment unit 1 ... 5 has a cleansing opening closable by pivotally suspended door 13 at the end of the unit situated opposite the connection to the fan or blower 11. The door is maintained in its closed position by the materials 8 to be dried and automatically opens when the unit has been emptied of material for dust and impurities to be blown out of the space into the outlet opening 7.
