911,309. Rectifying. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERWERKE A.G. Oct. 9, 1959 [Oct. 10, 1958], No. 34323/59. Class 38 (2). Unbalanced flow of current through parallel semi-conductor rectifiers 10 to 23, due to the skin-effect, is overcome by connecting the rectifiers to different lateral parts of bus-bars 1, 2. If current flows through the bus-bars in the same direction the innermost rectifiers 16, 17, which normally carry least current, are connected to the outer edges of the bus-bars, which normally carry most current, and outermost rectifiers 10, 11 are connected to the inner edges of the bus-bars (Fig. 1). If current flows in opposite directions through the bus-bars the positions are reversed (Fig. 2). The arrangement of Fig. 2 may also be used when the electrical connections are made mid-way along each busbar. One or both bus-bars may be provided with parallel rows of connections so that the arrangement may be varied for different current flow in the bus-bars. The connections of rectifiers to one bus-bar may be in a straight line (Fig. 4, not shown).
