Abstract

907,965. Fluid actuation of switches. ECKERFELD, A. Dec. 12, 1958 [Dec. 14, 1957; April 8, 1958], No. 40101/58. Class 38 (5). A diaphragm operated switch for a continuousflow liquid heater has a contact spring which in the open position bears under its own resilience against a member transmitting motion from the diaphragm. The diaphragm 7 is exposed on its left-hand side to the full pressure of inflowing cold water, and on its right-hand side to the heater discharge pipe, so that when a tap is opened the diaphragm moves to the right allowing contact springs 3<SP>1</SP> to engage contacts 4<SP>1</SP>. A transmission member 5 has a head 15 bearing on the diaphragm and in Fig. 1, this member 5 is a lever having a hinge formed by a plastic sealing tube 16. In a modification, Fig. 4, the transmission member moves rectilinearly. Specifications 907,966, 907,967 and 907,968 are referred to.
