Abstract
905,208. Tubular heat-exchange elements. JUNKERS & CO. G.m.b.H. Aug. 17, 1960 [Aug. 20, 1959], No. 28448/60. Class 64 (3). A sheet-metal strip 11 extends within a horizontally disposed heat-exchanger tube 10 in a plane generally parallel to the flow of a heating gas over the outside of the tube, the strip 11 having projections extending alternately on opposite sides thereof and being provided at least on its lower longitudinal edge with a flange 13 which rests firmly against the lower part of the inner surface of the tube 10. In the form shown, the strip is of z form, providing two of the flanges 13 and is formed with indentations for stiffening purposes. The projections are shallow flanges 15 formed around apertures 14 in the strip. Alternatively the projections may comprise tongues bent out of the plane of the strip and these may be inclined to direct liquid flowing through the tube towards the lower part of the tube section (Figs. 6, 7, not shown).
