Abstract
A resin prepared from a 1,3,5-triazine compound containing more than one glycidyl group and a hardener is used for insulating parts of a circuit-breaker which are exposed to arcing. Specified epoxy compounds are 2,4,6-triglycedeoxy-, and 2-ethoxy-4,6-diglycideoxy-1,3,5-triazine. The hardener may be an acid- or alkaline-acting compound or a metal alcoholate. The insulating composition may also contain other resins, e.g. bis-phenol epoxy resins, aniline-epoxy resins and acid polyesters, e.g. from glycerol or glycol and adipic acid. Fillers such as quartz powder, glass fibre and powdered porcelain are also included. Specified hardeners are maleic acid anhydride, dodecyl succinic anhydride and phthalic anhydride.
