In a circuit for providing a sawtooth current in cathode - ray tube deflection coils L, the D.C. component is by - passed from the transformer via an inductor H connected in series with the efficiency diode D, a capacitor C2 being provided to complete the A.C. circuit for the diode. This arrangement permits the use of a smaller line deflection transformer and reduces the acoustic output at line frequency.
