Abstract

900,065. Chucks. SKELCHER & ROWE Ltd. Dec. 24, 1960, No. 44365/60. Class 83 (3). A tool 7 is secured in a chuck 1 by a split nut 11 axially movable but rotatably fixed in the chuck by pins 12, and a number of dished washers 5 which, when the tool is screwed into the nut, and the latter moves axially towards the tool, are compressed to grip the tool by a sleeve 15 having tapered ends. A nut 3 having a raised portion 16 engages the bottom washer, and the tool is centred by a centre 14.
