Abstract
899,447. Root-crop harvesters. AEBI & CO. A.G. MASCHINENFABRIK. Sept. 20, 1960 [Sept. 24, 1959], No. 32193/60. Class 6(3). A root-crop harvester comprises two or more channel-shaped members formed by rods 11 which are arranged to ..be pivoted about axes 7 extending in the direction of motion of the machine by connecting rods 15 fastened to an eccentric 14 driven from the tractor, a share 10 being associated with each member. The share together with the channel shaped member are pivotally supported on stirrups 9 and a screw 25 fixed to the share cooperates with a nut 27 fixed to the stirrup in order to adjust the angle between the share and the stirrup so that the amplitude of the oscillations of the ends of the rods 11 remote from the share can be varied with respect to that of the share. The rods 11 are made shorter on the sides of the channel shaped members which are adjacent than on the other sides of the members with the result that the two rows of aggregate collected by the members form only one row of tubers. The land wheels 2 of the machine are adjustable in height by means of the screw 5 cooperating with the shaft 3. In modifications only the channel-shaped members are inclineable and not the shares, and the bars 11 may be coated with a hose of elastic material or may be replaced by a network or mesh of perforated sheet material.
