Abstract

Coated or uncoated tablets are given a protective coating (which is not necessarily the outermost coating) of a film of a resin of terpene polymers melting between 70 DEG and 135 DEG C. Preferred polymers are those of b -pinenes melting between 80 DEG and 125 DEG C. The coating may be applied by conventional pan-coating processes using a solution of the polymer, e.g. in a chloroalkane such as 1,1,1-trichlorethane which may optionally contain thickeners, e.g. cellulosic esters (ethyl cellulose preferred) and which may form a part of the coating film. Compatible dyestuffs, e.g. quinoline yellow may also be added.
