898,438. Flexible barges. DRACONE DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. Sept. 1, 1958 [Sept. 18, 1957(2)], Nos. 29392/57 and 29393/57. Class 113. A flexible barge 1 has flexibly attached thereto, at or near the stern thereof, a fin 2 of flexible material and weighted to depend from the barge. The fabric fin 2 has a heavy rod 3 at its leading edge, a weight or kite 4 attached to its lower extremity and is attached to the barge by ropes 11 and 12 and to a girdle 5 secured by ropes 7 to flaps 6 on the barge. The stern of the barge may end abruptly or be tapered, or have an inflatable toroid 15 (Fig. 3). Additional fins, such as 20, 21, 22 in Fig. 4 may be provided forward of the main fin. The barge may be sub-divided into sections such as A, B, C in Fig. 9, each having a stabilizing fin 2 at the rear end thereof.
