897,851. Toothed wheels. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. Nov. 23, 1959 [Nov. 24, 1958], No. 39688/59. Class 80 (1). [Also in Group XXVI] The teeth of a synthetic plastics gear-wheel used in a gear pump are provided with peripheral and lateral sealing lips 12, 13 formed by recesses in the crests and sides of the teeth. Preferably a cross-linked polyurethane resilient plastics material is used. As shown the gears are used as a reversible rotary engine, pressure liquid from a gear pump (not shown) being admitted through apertures 2 or 3 and exhausted through apertures 4 and 5.
